This is an intensive two-month program designed to prepare students
to test for their first degree black belt and above and is taught by Master Rich Arteca.
They are also open to blue and black belts who want
additional fast pace workouts to prepare themselves for testing
later down the road. Areas covered in these classes are similar
to what will be covered at a typical black belt test including both
the physical and mental skills. For the physical portion of the
class there is a rigorous warm-up, followed by hand, foot and
hand/foot drill using multiple movements, jump kicks, forms (hyung),
weapons (Bong, Dan Gum and Jang Gum), free sparring (Ja Yu Dae Ryun),one-steps
(Il Soo Sik Dae Ryun), self defense techniques (Ho Sin Sul) both
association standards and situational self defense, falling and
breaking. The mental portion of the class includes a 100 question
written exam, which will be given at various times over the two-month
period.
This is a six-hour class designed to test both physical and mental
skills. It is required annually for all black belts. Recertification
classes evaluate all of the skills required for your present
rank. Master Rich Arteca and Mr. Jared Arteca (4th Degree Black
Belt)l conduct all recertification classes and each Black belt
student must pass this class in order to have their Instructor Certification
renewed.
